Dear PG,
This semester I learned a lot about myself as a writer and as a student. I learned I can in fact procrastinate, and it's not a good thing to do. I also learned the things that make my writing strong and the things that make it weak.
In my sophomore year, I remember coming into this class to work on yearbook stuff. While I was working away, the students in the class were doing a timed writing. Every single time I came in here. When I saw this, I cried a little on the inside. Would I too have to write this many timed writings? Would I be able to physically write that many? I heard one of the students at the time give me a warning on how hard the class could be and while that made me a bit nervous -- it didn't scare me off. I'm glad it didn't.
Compared to last year, this class is the golden throne of all english class. I believe I would have been able to do better had I gotten more challenged as a sophomore English student. This english class is about as fun and fabulous as my freshman english class (and that was quite fun). I looked forward to this class. Definitely not because of the amount of writing (or thinking) involved, but because I was able to express my writing in a variation of ways.
I got to learn how to properly argue with people. Which, the ability to present a strong argument will come in handy with many of the people I come across on a daily basis.
I got to learn how to think about my thinking. Which if you think about it, that is very thoughtful.
Thank you for everything you've done this year. I appreciate it and will always remember the amount of writing I have done throughout the year.
Sincerely,
Michael
